Introducing the first ICF-F
Like a conventional ICF system Octaform’s Finished Forming Systems can incorporate insulation to provide excellent climate control and energy efficiency. But when building with Octaform you also get a finished wall – all in one step, one system. We call this an Insulated Concrete Form – Finished.
Our standard insulation panels are made from expanded polystyrene and can be manufactured to meet the R-value requirements of a specific project. Our insulation panels are manufactured with grooves allowing them to slide securely into our Finished Forming System.
In general, three factors contribute to our ICF-F’s high-insulating properties:
PVC
Octaform’s finished PVC panels eliminate air drafts and act as a vapor barrier. Octaform’s finished panels wrap the insulation and concrete which helps maintain temperatures longer.
Thermal Mass
Concrete has a high thermal mass. As a result, it acts as an important heat sink, reducing temperature fluctuations within a structure and contributing to significant energy savings.
Insulation
Insulation is optional and can provide up to an R-20 insulating value. When insulation is combined with the layers of PVC and the concrete’s high-thermal mass, walls built using Octaform’s Finished Forming System provide superior climate control to significantly reduce energy costs.
Our Finished Forming System can also be constructed without insulation.
