Current Prairie Fishermen (CPF) Expanded Production Capacity

Solutions for Optimized Aquaponics Operations

In 2019, CPF embarked on an ambitious expansion project to increase their production capacity and optimize their aquaponics operations. To achieve this, they sought a reliable formwork and liner solution, ultimately choosing Octaform for its reputation in delivering efficient and high-quality construction solutions.

Outcomes

Octaform supplied formwork and liners for the construction of rectangular tanks, a crucial component of CPF’s aquaponics system. The tanks, ranging from 150-200mm in concrete thickness, were integral to supporting the increased production capacity from 250 to 450 tons of fish per year.

One of the key features of Octaform’s solution was the insulated wall assembly used for the exterior pony wall, with pilasters supporting the steel columns. This design not only provided structural integrity but also enhanced the thermal efficiency of the tanks, contributing to the overall sustainability of CPF’s aquaponics system.

Conclusion

Klaas Den Toom, a staunch advocate for building with Octaform, attested to the significant advantages of choosing Octaform for this project. The use of Octaform’s formwork and liner resulted in substantial schedule savings, allowing CPF to complete the expansion project efficiently and within the planned timeframe.
