A New Aquaculture System

The proposal was to develop a 5,000-ton on-land recirculating aquaculture system for Greater Amberjack and will require the construction of 11 buildings in three major phases.

Octaform provided a wall system solution that required very minimal training and construction time. The watertight wall panels are NSF potable water certified and CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) approved which helps prevent bacteria and helps maintain the health of the fish.

We liked the idea that a durable, watertight finish would be part of the concrete tank walls from day one of construction.

The eight Broodstock tanks were built by the NPC contractors in 14 days. The success of the project catapulted a long-term partnership with Octaform and NPC.

Together they continue to work on Phase II of production which, after completion, will be the largest recirculating aquaculture system in the world.
